Scientific name of carrot is "Daucus carota". The carrot
is a plant with a thick, fleshy, deeply colored root,
which grows underground, and feathery green leaves that
emerge above ground with a white flowering stem which
grows about 1 meter-3ft from the ground. The edible part
of a carrot is a taproot.
Carrots' antioxidant compounds help to protect against
cardiovascular disease and cancer and also promote eye
vision. Carrots are a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin
C, vitamin K, dietary fiber, falcarinol and potassium.
